Vidyut Jamwal - Supporting Vegetarianism

"People have misconception on what body building is. Body building doesn't just mean training hard. Actually it is 20% physical training and 80% nutrition" says legendary body builder Vince Gironda, .If you are really interested in carving your body with perfect abs, biceps, the shoulders etc.,. like that of a Vidyut Jamwal, then there is no escape from nutrition planning. Without a proper approach to nutrition one cannot achieve the body he dreams no matter how hard he train at gym.

The major questions arise in ones mind when coming to diet for body sculpting are

What diet plan should one follow for body building?
How many times a day diet should be taken?
Whether one should be a Vegan or not?

Get your queries answered by Vidyut Jamwal, who is an epitome of fitness himself.

On Vegetarianism  - There are different schools of thought when it comes to being a vegan (vegetarian), more particularly for body building. Some even claim that being a vegan body building is an impossible task. The debate continues.

However, Vidyut Jamwal subscribes to vegetarianism. In an interview to TOI, Vidyut Jamwal revealed that at the age of 14 he turned into a vegetarian. And that everything has changed after turning into a vegan. He realizes that he has completely transformed with a improved connection between body and mind. Vidyut Jamwal also expresses that vegetarian is much healthier and it keeps him mentally active. He stated that he started looking less beefy and feels better about it.

On Proteins - Vidyut Jamwal revealed that for proteins, he depends majorly on protein shakes and tofu. He includes lot of tofu intake in his diet plan, which has more protein value than chicken.

On Diet Vidyut Jamwal believes in eating all the tastes from salt to sugar in right balance will be beneficial for health. If one cant balance these in their diet, he cannot be fit according to him. Vidyut believes that the concept dieting itself is flawed and when one stops dieting they become fat again. Instead one should take a balanced diet. He also opines that being fat is not sin. Being more healthy and fit is more important.

No. of Meals - For better metabolism rate Vidyut breaks his diet plan to 6 time meals a day. His usual diet consists dal, roti, muesli, tofu, lots of fruits and vegetables.

Lifestyle - Great achievements are not possible without abstinence and discipline. Vidyut Jamwal says he is a non smoker, avoids aerated drinks. He does not attend night parties which is why he is considered a boring person by many of his friends.

  2. The one who respects his body, mind and soul is closer to god ! to cherish what one has is devotion and great regard for nature. Boring is a person who is without an enthusiasm and who lacks a sense of humor. To consider a person boring because he does not attend late night parties, is a clear reflection of a weak & stupid mind. I do attend late night parties every now and then but do not disdain those, who do not. To each his own. Respecting one's self teaches you to respect humanity as a whole. And when I speak of respect, i do not mean, obsession; of which many are afflicted with.

Kudos to Vidyut for such dedication and a disciplined lifestyle. Again, he's disciplined, not rigid.
